Hello, 2011!
First of all, happy new year to everyone who visits this blog every now and then. I plan to make this a pretty thorough update on my life here in Los Angeles. I can’t believe it’s been two months already. Life is like a bullet train, yes?

It’s been a crazy roller coaster ride living here. I’ve had my fair share of miserable nights whenever I am confronted with the fact that I live with three Spanish-speaking girls (who are all lovely, by the way, but the language barrier can be a real bitch sometimes), that my family’s back home in the Philippines spending the Holidays without me, and that my boyfriend’s too far.
Although, I’ve been having a lot of fun too. I went to Disneyland and had a blast with my classmates. We went to Malibu and eventually, Las Vegas for new year’s. I also rode Stratosphere’s Big Shot. Something I never would have done if it weren’t for my classmates’ power of persuasion. (And also, my thirst for adventure and spontaneity!)
2010 didn’t end without a bang though. Drastic changes took place real quick. I became single again, we had to return the car to the rental place, and I’m actually really happy to be here. It took me awhile to adjust, but wow, I love it. I love my friends from school, I love the beaches of California, I love my independence. I love how I have to cook my own food or else I’d starve. I love how I can talk about my favorite films and directors to people who actually understand what it’s like to feel so passionately in love with cinema. I love being surrounded by people who inspire me to do well.
Life is just great. I have nothing to complain about. Nothing at all. Everything’s fresh.
So here are my 2011 resolutions:
- Take more pictures.
- Meet more people.
- Write more often.
- Don’t be afraid to fall in love again.
- Forgive.
- Watch more live shows. (In this month alone, I’m seeing Dashboard Confessional and Iron & Wine!)
- Live high!
I am so ready to leave 2010 behind. It was great, but 2011, I feel, is going to be so much better. Don’t you think so? There’s always an opportunity to turn things around and while I’m also a bit scared, I think I’m ready for anything.

- A tiny girl with a camera, a passport, and a lot of clothes. It's only fair to tell you I'm absolutely cuckoo.
